Blockchain-powered digital forums are becoming explosively popular means of digital engagement. Collectors and traders can exchange tokens and digital currency as a means of entrance into a bold new economic sector. Transitioning from being an internet user to a blockchain user can sound like a big step, but using the blockchain is as simple as installing a plugin or extension into your existing browser. In order to make the process as smooth as possible, we’ll take you through the steps of setting up your first wallet for Solana – the blockchain that Fraction Motors uses.
Before you begin working with the actual wallet itself, you’ll need to install a plugin that will give you easy wallet access through your browser. We recommend the Solflare client as it is among the most widely used and well-trusted wallets. Simply visit Solflare.com and click the orange “download” button to get started.
Select the correct plugin based on your browser (for example, if downloading using Chrome, click the Chrome icon) and download for free.

Next, finish setting up the actual wallet. Adding the plugin to your browser should result in a “welcome to Solflare” screen with a button that says “create a new wallet.” Click it and proceed through the creation steps: set up a recovery phrase and write it down in a safe place, make a password, and take a look at they keyboard shortcut.
After this step, setup is complete! You can click on the puzzle piece icon on the right side of your browser’s search bar and click on the new Solflare plugin button to reach your wallet whenever you want. You can also use the pin icon to attach the Solflare button to your browser toolbar for easier access. Clicking this button will bring you to a simple menu screen with buttons for depositing or sending tokens you collect in the future.

Before you start collecting, you’ll need the wallet address, which can be copied to your computer’s clipboard by clicking on the account name at the top of this screen. To send you tokens and NFTs, websites will often ask for this address in order to connect your wallet to the site. This is a handy piece of info to keep at the ready.
The wallet address copy/paste menu in the Solflare extension, accessed by hovering over the account name at the top. Clicking the two squares next to an address highlights it and copies it to your clipboard.
Additionally, it's always good to review what Solflare is allowed to access before connecting your wallet to a website. The example below shows what happens when you connect your wallet to the Fraction Motors website. Accepting these permissions allows the Solflare wallet to communicate with that specific website. Solflare is required to list the individual permissions that it is requesting on each website that asks you to connect your wallet. This both stops Solflare from accessing any extra sites on your computer and allows you to think carefully about connecting to any site based on its requested permissions.

Once you’ve completed all of these steps, you’re ready to connect to blockchain websites such as Fraction Motors using your Solana wallet. We hope this was a helpful resource and we will see you on the site soon!
