In 2012, Ford dealers were only allowed to special order one or two GT500s, making these cars often sell for more than their list price. Most buyers could only purchase what the dealers had already ordered. However, this Shelby GT500 was special ordered by the founder of Fraction Motors six months in advance. The car is one of only 75 Kona Blue convertibles produced with the SVT Performance Package and one of 58 without the accent stripes. Nearly identical to the engine in the Ford GT40, the hand-built 5.4L DOHC super-charged aluminum V8 accelerated from zero to 60 mph in only 4.4 seconds on its way to a quarter-mile time of 12.4 seconds at 116 mph.
